Bill Barr reportedly at odds with inspector general over investigation findings

Attorney General Bill Barr has found himself in a difficult situation as a new rift may be opening within the Department of Justice. There seems to be a civil war between Barr and Inspector General Michael Horowitz over the key findings in the forthcoming report on the FBI’s conduct with regard to President Trump’s 2016 campaign.

Major disagreement

According to a bombshell Washington Post report, sources close to the situation say that AG Barr has rejected Horowitz’s key finding from his recently concluded investigation.

Barr caused a stir when he was brought in by President Trump to run the DOJ. He pulled no punches in declaring that Trump’s campaign had been spied on by the FBI in 2016.

The FBI got the warrants they needed to monitor the Trump campaign using the discredited Steele dossier. That piece of opposition research was commissioned by FusionGPS, a group partially paid by the Clinton campaign to get dirt on Trump.

Michael Horowitz, in his role as DOJ inspector general, was directed to conduct an investigation and publish a report on what really happened.

Barr was convinced spying had occurred, but now Horowitz seems to disagree. According to those who have seen a draft of the report, it says that the FBI indeed had sufficient reason to monitor the Trump campaign.

This, of course, is only a draft, and perhaps the report goes into greater detail. However, as the report is set to be released on Dec. 9, it’s doubtful that this is the case. If the news reporting is true, there may be some serious conflict within the DOJ.

A spokesperson for Barr has dismissed the rumors, saying that “rather than speculating, people should read the report for themselves next week.”

Barr out to destroy the swamp

Bill Barr’s objective is to destroy the Deep State that has such a powerful hold on our nation’s bureaucracy. It is undeniable that the FBI hid the political motivation behind their investigation into the 2016 Trump campaign.
