Report: Conservative Cities Better at Closing Racial Education Gap Posted

In a new report that will definitely have liberal politicians looking for the nearest vault into which they can hide this data from the public for the next twenty years, Brightbeam has discovered that schools in conservative cities have done a much more effective job at closing the racial achievement gap than their counterparts in progressive districts. As illuminated by civil rights attorney Nekima Levy Armstrong, the report shows that much of what Democrats believe about how to bring up children of color is clear and obviously wrong.
Now, whether Democrats will actually take this lesson to the heart or, instead, just double down on the same failed policies, is yet to be determined. As we mentioned, the most likely path forward is for these city and school leaders to simply pretend like this report doesn’t exist.

From Armstrong’s piece in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune: 

The brightbeam report shows that progressive cities like Minneapolis do worse — and, surprisingly, conservative cities do better — when it comes to educating students of color. According to the report, conservative cities have gaps in math and reading that are on average 15 and 13 percentage points smaller than those in progressive cities.
To draw their conclusions, researchers used criteria developed by independent political scientists to compare education outcomes in the 12 most progressive cities and the 12 most conservative cities.

Researchers also controlled for other factors that could potentially explain different educational outcomes, including poverty rates, population size, per-pupil spending and private school attendance rates. Surprisingly, none of these other variables made a difference in predicting the size of the opportunity gap.
What mattered most was whether the city was conservative or progressive.

This is a bombshell revelation that would, under ordinary circumstances, trigger a nationwide backlash against the awful liberal education policies currently being rolled out in so-called “progressive” districts. These include, but aren’t limited to, brainwashing teachers into thinking they need to “check their privilege,” handing out lenient punishments for black and Hispanic students who break the rules, banning school choice, and changing course curricula to pander to the lowest common denominator. 

Unfortunately, as you well know, these are not ordinary circumstances. For the left, the ideology is more important than the results. And if the precepts of the ideology aren’t working, why…we just double down on more of the same. And then if that doesn’t work, we turn around and blame white supremacy for holding minority kids down. 

Rinse and repeat until we’re left with a country so hollowed-out and crusty that we have no choice but to hand our lives over to the government.
