Sometimes we need something to shake us in order to wake us from the fantasy that we have been living in.  Hopefully, this COVID-19 pandemic will serve as a wake-up call for people all over the globe, because it has given us a very clear preview of what we can expect during the years ahead.  This pandemic has shown us that our economic and financial systems are not nearly as stable as most people thought, many of our politicians have been quite eager to embrace socialism and tyranny during this pandemic, and acute shortages of basic essentials started to happen very rapidly once a fear of COVID-19 began to sweep across the nation.  If things degenerated this much during a relatively minor crisis like this COVID-19 pandemic, what in the world is our society going to look like once a major crisis hits us?

That official’s account confirms aspects of Newsweek’s reporting, which cited a CIA report stating that China urged the WHO not to declare the pandemic a global health emergency.

A Previous pandemic with no hype resulting in hysteria or draconian measures--why is covid-19 so different?

Comment: For those who are old enough to remember the Hong Kong Flu, the only comment ever heard was "There is a nasty flu bug going around".  Also, there were No Lockdowns: During The Terrifying Polio Pandemic of 1949-52 . There definitely was well-deserved fear of this wretched disease. However, there was no mass panic and no iron-fisted restrictions. Some common-sense measures were suggested and "social distancing" was voluntary. What a difference 60+  years makes.

Woodstock Occurred in the Middle of a Pandemic

In my lifetime, there was another deadly flu epidemic in the United States. The flu spread from Hong Kong to the United States, arriving December 1968 and peaking a year later. It ultimately killed 100,000 people in the U.S., mostly over the age of 65, and one million worldwide.

Lifespan in the US in those days was 70, whereas it is 78 today. Population was 200 million, as compared with 328 million today. It was also a healthier population with low obesity. If it would be possible to extrapolate the death data based on population and demographics, we might be looking at a quarter million deaths today from this virus. So in terms of lethality, it was as deadly and scary as COVID-19 if not more so, though we shall have to wait to see. 

Obama Administration Corruption: Bigger Than Watergate

That story was two years into what became known as Spygate. We are now 4 years into the scandal we were never to know anything about.

 America will soon learn the entirety of the story behind the FBI framing General Mike Flynn. And that story will blow the minds of the Leftists who fervently supported Barack Obama.

The Flynn case exposes the man who proudly declared he presided over a “scandal-free” administration. And as I say to my radio audience often, Democrats tell you who they are by what they (1) call you, or (2) say they are.

Let’s take Door #2: Obama’s declaration of being scandal-free amounted to him admitting exactly the opposite.

Forget Fast and Furious, the IRS scandal, Benghazi, shipping billions to Iran in the middle of the night, and Watergate. Because the targeting of Donald J. Trump beats them all.

So many states have a money addiction that they cannot/will not kick.

 
Comment: Horrendously mismanaged states that are in deep fiscal trouble should not ask the federal government to bail them out via the taxpayers. 

Their crisis is due largely to corruption and bribery i.e. buying votes from certain groups. 

They are like  addicts and money is their drug of choice. They need some serious reality "treatment", after which they may or may not change. Can they kick the habit?
