The midterms: Watch out!

In about two months as of this writing, the vast majority of rank and file Americans eagerly anticipate having the opportunity to finally start the process of righting the path of our dangerously out-of-control ship of state.  Conservative commentators and some Republican political leaders (other than the RINOs) talk endlessly of a huge "red wave" that, in the words of one observer, will "destroy the Democratic Party as a national institution".

Polling data, conventional wisdom, and the horrendous performance of the Biden regime along with their lackeys in Congress — all point to such an outcome.  But is that what is really in store for America?

 

The FBI: A Campaign Arm of the Democrat Party

“Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity” is the FBI motto. According to the FBI website, this motto, “Succinctly describes the motivating force behind the men and women of the FBI.”

The motto may have been accurate in the 1965-1974 TV series, “The FBI”, where Efrem Zimbalist Jr epitomized those words every Sunday night on prime-time television. But today the FBI has morphed into a campaign arm of the Democrat Party, attempting to influence elections in favor of their preferred candidates, acting more like the East German Stasi or Soviet KGB rather than the premier law enforcement agency in the world.

The Dems decided they needed a little presidential revival before the midterms to fire up their base -- which isn’t looking very motivated at the moment. They gave President Gremlin a few days of vacation to rest up, a couple of shots of Adderall to switch on long-dormant brain cells, and a few hits of oxygen so he could walk out onto the stage without collapsing.

They trotted Biden out to a friendly audience in a suburb of Washington, D.C., and he gave a real barn-burner of a speech. He was angrier than an old coot screaming at the neighborhood kids to get off of his yard. Apparently, the Democrats think that is a good look for them. I wonder if they’ve considered that this speech may come to define the Biden presidency?

 When I was an undergraduate in the late 1960s, I underwent a kind of transformative experience during a classroom debate with another student that I believed I was clearly winning when the philosophy professor corrected me.  He reminded me that when engaged in a philosophical debate, as opposed to the 9th-grade Debating Challenge, the point is not simply to vanquish one’s opponent but to find the truth.  In order to do the former one may use any means fair or foul to destroy the opponent. For the latter one must do the exact opposite and represent one’s opponent’s position in the strongest terms possible. One represents the opponent’s position as charitably as only then attempts to refute that stronger position.

It seemed in 2016 to be just a handful of rogue FBI and DOJ officials. But we now know beyond doubt, with the shameful pre-dawn raid by 30+ FBI agents on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago home to confiscate 15 boxes of materials, that it’s a systemic, methodical, highly orchestrated attempt to shut half the country completely out. Two things MUST happen, like a one-two punch to put an end to this travesty:

Patrick Henry understood the dichotomy our forefathers faced.  And now we face the same options. We all see liberty slipping away -- no, being yanked out of our hands by forces so evil we can barely wrap our Pollyanna brains around it.  Here? This can be happening here? We warn about losing our freedom. We give examples -- COVID mandates, travel restrictions, educational issues, etc. ad nauseam -- but Biden supporters still exist.  RINO Republicans still exist. The swamp is still full of monsters. The situation has made me realize that too few people seem to understand what freedom and liberty really mean.

Most realize that China has eaten our lunch. But what most don’t know is that China was a reluctant participant early on. Every subsequent action is on us!  It was only later that American companies got greedy and decided to trade their patriotism for corporate growth. How else to explain the wholesale exodus of American jobs and technology overseas; particularly to China? The reason: to make our goods more competitive on the world market by utilizing cheaper labor which results in higher corporate profits.  China is not just another country among many who got America’s manufacturing jobs; it was the number one country that took our jobs. China has cornered 28.7% of all manufacturing jobs in the world. Think about it for a moment. 

Both corporations and the government put blinders on to make a bargain with the devil. When you look at the logic of trade with China, you realize quickly that our motives were capitalistic, but we neglected to understand the ramifications of building up a country that one day was likely not to just be a rival, but an adversary, a Marxist Communist adversary. Someone was asleep at the switch as this trainwreck slowly unfolded over decades.
